What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us. Our beloved, Thomas Lewis Bishop answered his call on Thursday, November 7, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Thomas Lewis Bishop was born January, 14, 1958 in Darlington County. He was the son of the late Rasman and Hattie (Isaac) Bishop. He received his formal education in the public schools of Rosenwald school system located in Darlington County.
As a young man, he attended and became a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church.
Because Thomas believed in working hard and providing for his family, he was blessed to have the opportunity to work different jobs throughout life. Those companies included Job Corp, AO Smith, Roller Bearing and AmsPak.
Thomas enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and watching plants grow. He also enjoyed telling jokes and cooking. His most precious and rewarding pastime was spending time with his family. Thomas was easy going and will be missed by many because he knew how to treat others.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Rasman and Hattie (Isaac) Bishop, Ralph Bishop, Ollie Mae Bishop, Wanda Bishop, Rasma Bishop, Ronni Bishop, James Bishop, Levern Bishop, and Abe Isaac.
Those who shared the joys and sorrows of life with him and survive to cherish his memory are: his wife, Mary Ann Bishop; children: Tetus Wilson, Shanic Best, Maria Bishop, Willeacha Jackson, Kimberly Jackson, and Jarvis Benjamin; grandchildren: TeAsis Best, Timaar Bishop, LaQuenmia Jackson, Morche Jackson, and Marquez Jackson; great-grandchildren: Ty’Shari Best, KyIslann Thomas, Loyal Davis, and Ky’Lenn Carraway; sisters: Anna Bishop, Louella Bishop, Carolyn (Edward) Jackson, Brenda Bishop, Gloria (Edward) Pooler, and Rosa Mae Bishop; sisters-in-law: Jaunita Bishop, Linda McCoy, Mae Alice Lighty, Lois Bishop; brothers-in-law: Eddie Ray Best, and Eddie (Rita) Best; special nieces: Linda Bishop, Tawanda Barnett, and Monica Bryant; special cousin: Emma Benjamin; a host of nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.
