Sylvester J Moore

 Please join us in celebrating the life of Rev. Sylvester J. Moore. The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Ousleydale Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville, SC. Rev. A.D. Robinson will officiate with interment following in the church cemetery.

The viewing will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, LLC located at 302 W. Washington St. Hartsville, SC. (A Family Business That Cares)

Rev. Sylvester received his education from Clearview High School, Denmark Technology (Barber School) and Morris College (Clergy). He was employed at Galey & Lord for over 33 years while he was a Pastor at several churches.

Rev. Sylvester was a member of Ousleydale Baptist Church where he served as an associate Pastor, choir member and missionary. He was a great role model.

Rev. Sylvester was married to the late Ella Mae Field Moore for 57 years and the union was blessed with four sons.

Rev. Sylvester indulged in fishing, planting a garden and small engine repairs. He was a Godly man who loved to serve and spread the good news of Jesus to all. He loved his family and others unconditionally but most of all, he loved the Lord.

Rev. Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Walter Lee Moore and Ida Ferguson; his wife, Ella Mae Fields Moore; two sons, Orlando Moore and Calvin Fields; two brothers, Cleo and Riley Moore; and one sister, Ezeree Knight.

Those left to cherish his memories are two sons, Vincent (Mashanda) Moore and Randall (Dorothy) Moore; one sister, Mrs. Fleta Rogers; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and close friends.
