Shirley Lighty

We regret to inform you of the passing of Ms. Shirley Lighty. 

Ms. Lighty passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, SC. 

 Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

Today we celebrate the homegoing of Ms. Shirley Louise Lighty who departed this earthly life on July 23, 2024. Shirley was born on May 29, 1953 in Bishopville, South Carolina to Salone Brown, Sr. and Elizabeth Lucille Cooley.

Shirley attended and was a member of Believer’s Temple Holiness Church. She believed with all her heart, God was her provider, protector, and her healer.

Shirley found pleasure in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love for her family was immeasurable. Shirley had an infectious smile and she believed in the importance of relationships, empathy and compassion.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her children Willie Ann Lighty, Albert Lighty, Tammy Lighty, Lemont Lighty, Renita Lighty and Willie Carl Lighty; Sisters Janie Harris, Henrietta Hickman, Nina Prince; Brothers Salone Brown, Jr., Ricky Harris, and Henry Lee Harris; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.
