We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Perry Lee Larts of Hartsville, SC. Mr. Larts passed away on Wednesday July 26, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends at 218 Wilkes Circle, Hartsville, SC.
Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC.
Perry Lee Larts was born March 20, 1951 in Darlington, SC to the late Pearce Larts and Louise Dargan Larts. In 1969, He graduated from Butler High School in Hartsville, SC., and then moved to Washington, D.C. While in Washington, D.C. He enlisted in the U.S. National Guard for 4 years and started his journey into fatherhood. After service in the National Guard, He worked for the Council on Aging and then with the Library of Congress, in Washington, D.C. for many years. Perry returned to Hartsville,SC. where he met and married Sandra T. Larts. Perry was very diverse in his career paths, information technology, medical field. and eventually becoming a Truck Driver. Driving Tractor trailers helped him achieve a major goal in his life, becoming the creator and owner of 'Larts Trucking, LLC".
Perry enjoyed attending church, fishing, cooking, eating, car mechanics, and spending time with family and friends. He always enjoyed telling a good story, keeping everyone around him laughing.
Perry Lee Larts is survived by his wife, Sandra T. Larts, two daughters, Sherita Norgan (His grandchildren: James Hawkins III, Jamia Hawkins, Marquette Hawkins, Semaj Morgan, Nasir Carter) and Marshea Young, and his step children, Jaison Allen, Shaniqua Alen, and Tyesha Allen. He is also survived by his siblings, Leroy Larts, Helen McElveen, Calvin Larts, Virginia Dawson, and Willie Edward Larts,
Perry was preceded in death by his father, Preace Larts, his mother, Louise Larts, and his brother, Eugene Larts. He leaves behind 10 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
