Moses "Buddy" McPhail, 77, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, due to a traffic accident in DuBois, PA.
Buddy, the son of the late Moses and Gertrude McPhail, was born in Darlington County, SC, and attended Rosenwald High School. After high school, he moved to New Jersey, where he worked for Ford Motor Co. Later in life, he moved to Trenton, MI, and continued working for Ford Motor Co. until retirement.
Buddy leaves to mourn his passing four children: Dana A. Baker, Trenton, MI; Robert F. Baker, Pennsauken, NJ; Moses (Roneisha) L. McPhail, III and Alivia A. McPhail, both of Trenton, MI; nine grandchildren; five siblings, Doris (B.C.) Chavis, Darlington, SC; Shirley Cummings, Florence, SC; Faulves (Samuel) Coleman, Willingboro, NJ; Claudia McDaniel, Darlington, SC and Glenn (Dianne) McPhail, Glen Burnie, MD; one uncle, Lincoln (Christine) McPhail, Clinton, MD; one aunt, Elizabeth Graham, Darlington, SC; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.
The funeral service is Saturday at noon at New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 3500 New Hopewell Road, Darlington, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Public viewing will be Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4 - 6 pm at Davis Funeral Home, 302 W. Washington Street, Hartsville, SC.
Floral arrangements will be accepted at D. B. Walker Funeral Services until 6 p.m. Thursday and at Davis Funeral Home until 6 p.m. Friday.
