Mary Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Mary Johnson of Hartsville, SC.

Ms. Johnson entered into rest on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Oakhaven Nursing Center in Darlington, SC.

The family will receive friends at: 2928 Box Woods Avenue, Florence,SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC.

We know that we can’t have you physically here with us but we’re happy knowing that you are at peace. Today we honor Mary M. Johnson: a wonderful, strong woman; a beautiful mother, a caring grandmother, a doting great-grandmother, a supportive sister, a sweet aunt and kind friend.

Mary was born May 9, 1944 to Henry Lee Johnson Sr. and Lizzie Mae Johnson. Mary transitioned peacefully Friday February 28, 2025 at Oakhaven Nursing Home.

Mary was a special blessing to all that knew her. She had a humble, sweet spirit. Her friendliness and kindness shown through as she never met a stranger. She was employed at Tyson Foods where she worked faithfully providing for her family until her retirement. Mary’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She loved cooking for her family. Mary adored her family as they brought her great joy!

Mary was preceded in death by father Henry Lee Johnson, Sr; mother Lizzie Mae Johson, and brothers Henry Lee Johnson Jr. and Stanley Johnson.

Those left to cherish Mary’s precious memories are loving and devoted daughter Mary Ann Johnson; loving and devoted son Harold Johnson; adopted daughters Alice Jackson and Mary Damon; grandchildren Detric Johnson, Jaylon Johnson, and Monesha Johnson; sisters Louise Barrett and Beatrice Morris; great-grandchildren Zy’On Johnson, Brylin King, Brielle King, Maleia King and Marlie King; special nephews Corey Hough, Jai’mir Hannah and Kerry Hough, a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
