Linda Faye McLean

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ms. Linda McLean.

Mrs. McLean passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at MUSC Hospital in Florence, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; you will be comforted In Jerusalem.

Linda Faye Wingate McLean affectionately known as “Lafaye” was born July 17, 1964 in Durham, NC to Mae Jessie Hamilton and Linell Wingate. Linda entered into rest Tuesday February 24, 2025.

Linda received her primary and secondary education in the public schools of Colleton County and Darlington County. In her adult years, she worked multiple jobs until she became sick with renal failure.

Anywhere the Lord was, Sister Faye was. If she had to walk to praise the Lord, she was walking. Sister Faye loved the Lord unconditionally.

Linda enjoyed going to church, reading and writing, dancing, spending time with her grands and great grands. Her favorite pastime was cooking and being with her family. Shopping and spending money was Linda’s thing.

Linda was preceded in death by father Linell Wingate, son Donte Copeland, grandson Jerimiah Burgess, two brothers Augustus Hamilton and Corey Hamilton, and maternal grandmother Elise Scott.

Those left to cherish Linda’s memories are spouse Patrick E. McLean, mother Mae Jessie Hamilton (Eddie), children Vergena Duhaney(Dwayne) of Killeen TX; Jessica Wingate of Sumter SC; Tamarquis Wingate of SC; Marquetta Brabble (John) of Virginia; and Tarvaris Lewis of the home; grandchildren Briyonah (Diamond) Wingate, Marquezz McCullough, Destanee Wingate, Mauryyon Mitchell, Markyess Bolden, Alexia Mahome, Ti’yannah Burgess, Braylin Brabble, Jabreon Woods, Symira Lewis, Tarvarion Lewis, KeAndre Duhaney, and Keshawn Duhaney; great-grandchild Maleighya McCullough; sisters Brenda Wingate, Clara McDowell and Josephine McDowell, brother Frank Hamilton, a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
