Mr. Evans passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Carolina Pines Medical Center in Hartsville.
Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Jackie L. Evans, devoted Jehovah’s Witness, Father, and Friend died on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born to Vera Edwards and Quincy Evans on February 2, 1951, in North Carolina.
He graduated from Hartsville High School and shortly thereafter enlisted into the U.S. Air Force where he served for 20 years and retired as a U.S. Air Force engineer.
Jackie spent much of his time at Hartsville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Aside from volunteering at the hall, he enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing and automotive repair.
Survivors include: Betty Jean Moore (Aunt), Tonia R. Klatkins (Sheldon), Ranaldo Maynor, Terrence Moore, Prezevia Fennell; four children: Michael McCray, Shonda McCray (Lonnie), Julian Evans, Carreatha Evans, Lucretia Evans; Godson, Cedric Gibson; four stepchildren: Klillie Green, Lakeisha Mayberry, Melanie Mayberry Barnes and Shernard Hough; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
