                                                                  Revelation 21:4

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harry Lee Coe Jr., affectionately known as Junior, who left us on January 7, 2025. Born on August 1, 1964, to the late Jacqueline Coe and Harry Lee Coe Sr. in Springfield Gardens, Queens, New York, Junior was the youngest boy and most vibrant addition to a large, loving family.

From a young age, Junior captivated us with his boundless energy and zest for life. He was the youngest brother to six adoring sisters— the late Michelle, the late Maria, Evelyn, Gloria, Millane, and his younger sister Yvette—and two elder brothers, Daryle and Levorn. When the family moved to South Carolina when Junior was just five years old, he quickly made a new home and lasting memories in his new surroundings.

Junior’s educational journey took him to Washington Street Elementary School, Butler High School, and culminated in his graduation from Hartsville Senior High School in 1982. His fascination with long-distance trucking as a child led him to pursue a career as a truck driver right after high school, a dream he cherished and achieved with immense pride and joy.

After his trucking days, Junior found fulfillment in various roles, most notably as a heavy equipment operator on construction sites. His work ethic and dedication to his craft were evident in every job he took on.

Beyond his professional life, Junior was the heartbeat of every family gathering and trip. His infectious joy and spirited demeanor made every event memorable, as he effortlessly brought laughter and excitement to both the good and challenging times. It was this very essence that endeared him to all who knew him.

Junior’s legacy lives on through his beloved children—Tavious Spevey, Tameka Clark, Antrone Harris, and the late Tierra Coe—along with his treasured grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, as we cherish the moments we shared and the love he so generously gave.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our family members from Washington, DC. Our uncle Jack and the late aunt Barbara, our aunt Anita, and our late aunt Marion, for always supporting not just Harry but all of us siblings throughout our lives. They always came down to South Carolina to support us for almost every important event. Uncle Jack and aunt Barbara stepped in when our parents passed on and acted as surrogate parents. That meant the world to Harry and all of us siblings. We also want to thank our cousins from DC, Karen and Kelly McGill, Cynthia, Veronica, Lisa, and Calvin Watts, for their support and for allowing us to share their parents.

Harry Lee Coe Jr. will be profoundly missed, but his spirit and the joy he brought to our lives will remain with us.
