It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Harold E. Washington.
Mr. Washington passed away on Monday, November 4,2024 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
The family will accept visitors on Wednesday, November 13th and Thursday, November 14th from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the home of Mrs. Gloria Washington located at 2795 Jeffords Road, Lamar, SC.
All services are entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Harold Ellie Washington was the 4th of 7 children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Mozelle Roderick) Washington on May 10, 1942 in Lee County, South Carolina. He was educated in the Darlington County School District.
At an early age, Harold accepted Christ as his personal savior and attended Sandy Bluff Methodist Church. In 1960, he relocated to Queens, New York making it his home for 28 years. He worked as an assembly worker for many years.
On November 2, 1963, Harold married Rose Baker. Together, they have a daughter named Tracey.
Harold returned to South Carolina and reestablished his home on the Washington Family land in 1988. At that time, he established membership with Sandy Bluff United Methodist Church and worked faithfully in any capacity needed.
Harold was adored by all who met him. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Harold enjoyed working in his yard, fishing with friends, and caring for his pets. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and continued to do so until his health declined.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by: a son, Jackie Covington; five brothers: Bill (Irene), Richard (Elizabeth), James, Eugene, and Stanley (Iris) Washington; sister, Minnie Bee; and brother-in-law, Herman Williams.
Survivors cherishing Harold’s memory include: his daughter, Tracey (Mark) Tanner of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Barbara Williams of Marion, SC; two grandsons, Jarrod (Kristen) Tanner and Mark “Jay-R” (Ke’Vaundra) Tanner of Virginia Beach, VA; seven great- grandchildren: Christopher, Austin, Ayden, Cameron, Caleb, Aubrey and Kaiden; sister-in-law, Gloria Washington and brother-in-law, Robert Bee, both of Lamar, SC; goddaughter, Kenya Washington of Lawrenceville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
