Evanzie Lee Pate

It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Evanzie Lee Pate.

Mr. Pate passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Richland Prisma Hospital in Columbia, SC.

Family are receiving friends at:

94 Hyland Lane, McBee, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Evanzie Lee Pate was born October 30, 1975, in Hartsville SC to Lucy Bell Pate and Stanley Black well. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Evanzie was educated in the public school system. He graduated from high school and entered into the work force. He was a carpenter and handyman by trade. He was known as “Van the man, he can fix it.”

Evanzie lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed talking junk to others, fishing, cruising around, dressing up and caring for his beloved pet, Toby.

Evanzie was preceded in death by his grandmother Lucy Baldwin; grandfather Bill Blackwell; aunt Shirley Wilson; uncle Luther J. Pate and cousin Erik Wilson.

Evanzie leaves to cherish his lasting memories, mother Lucy Bell Pate; father Stanley Blackwell; special cousin and second mother Louvenia (Robert) Washington; aunts Cathy Gren, Henrietta (David) Mitchell, Beverly Lane, and Tracy Leaks; uncles Henry Pate, Archie (Minnie) Baldwin, David (Savannah) Blackwell and Andre Pat; cousins Rakeria Washington, Erika Washington, David Mitchell, Mechel Mitchell, Jessica, Jennifer, Alicia, Joya, Jonathan, Joshua, Tiger Derrell Blackwell, Greg Pate, and Allen Pate.
