We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Elijah DuBose.
Mr. DuBose passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Hospital in New York City.

Elijah DuBose was born on June 23, 1950, to the late Eliza “Ross” DuBose and the late King DuBose in Hartsville, SC. He departed this
earthly life on March 29, 2024 in Mt. Vernon, NY.
Elijah graduated from Butler High School in Hartsville, SC. Shortly after high school, he went on to work for Sonoco and later moved to
Mt. Vernon, NY where he met the love of his life, Linda. Elijah was also employed by C&A Carbone Trucking Company and the Mt.
Vernon Board of Education prior to retiring.
Elijah will be remembered for his warm generosity. Elijah was a hardworking man who always provided and made sure his family
was okay. He had a bubbly personality and a great sense of humor. He always spoke his mind and made others laugh. He had nicknames for
everyone he loved. He especially loved cars. He made sure his car was always pretty. Elijah touched the lives of many with his selfless acts
of kindness. His presence brought light and joy to those around him. His memory will continue to shine bright in our hearts. When “Eli”
traveled to South Carolina, he loved spending time with his family. He had a special connection with his sister, Lila Jeffery. He especially
enjoyed coming to spend time with his daughter, Valerie and grandson, Da’Shawn. Special thanks to Terry (Katie) Sutton of Mt.
Vernon, NY for being there for Elijah from the beginning to the end.
Elijah was preceded in death by his brothers: Willie DuBose, and Hazel DuBose; and sister-in-law, Lonzena DuBose.
Left to cherish his love and memories include; Special friend, Linda; children: Valerie Davis, Deniki (Alphonso) Wesley, Tajshi L. DuBose,
Elijah McNair-Chakka, and Dyneisha S. DuBose; sisters: Shirley Reed and Lila (Lee) Jeffery; brothers: Larry DuBose and Leroy (Ondra)
DuBose; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends.
