Curtis Blakney

We regret to inform you of the passing of Mr. Curtis Blakney. 

Mr. Blakney passed on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.  

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.

Mr. Curtis Blakney, son of the late Ruth and Ike Blakney, was born December 13, 1935, in Bishopville, South Carolina. On Saturday, October 24, 2024, he departed this earthly life from labor to reward with the Master.

Curtis attended Kellybell and Ashland Public Schools in Darlington County. He was a member of Mount Beulah United Methodist Church and a dedicated employee of Charlotte, NC until his retirement.

Curtis loved working on his cars and going fishing. He was loved by many and will be remembered for both: his love of life and his love for his family. He will truly be missed by many.

Curtis was preceded in death by: his parents, Ruth and Ike Blakney; brothers: Izell, Joe Lewis, Travis, Oziar, Isaac and Willie Blakney; sisters: Amy Hollowman, Wilma Hollowman, Cleo Covington and Blanane Atkinson.

Surviving to cherish his memory are: his children, Brucie Curtis Blakney and Jack Blakney; sister, Virginia Brown; special people in his life: Crystal Covington, Ruby Price and Tommy Covington; niece, Joanne Blakney (niece); sister-in-law, Evangeline Blakney; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
