We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara D. Evans.
Mrs. Evans passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
The family will receive friends at: 1258 Mimosa Dr., Hartsville, SC.
Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made the heaven and the earth.”

Mrs. Barbara Deloris Evans was born on December 16, 1959, in Darlington, SC. She was the daughter of the late Thomas C. Blackwell and Bertha L. Cuffie. She received her education from Hartsville High School. She married Larry L. Evans.
Barbara gained her wings on October 19, 2023 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
Barbara was a member of Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Mt. Rona Chapter Order of Eastern Star #233.
Barbara really enjoyed and had a passion for cooking. She was often called, “Meals on Wheels,” because she was always cooking and delivering food to her older family members who were not able to get out and about.
She loved helping others. Whether it was a listening ear or a helping hand, whatever she could do to help, she did.
Barbara had an avid love for sports. Watching football on Sunday afternoon and Monday night was something that she looked forward to. She was a diehard Tennessee Titans and LA Lakers fan. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas C. Blackwell, her husband, Larry L. Evans and sister, Emma Jean Stallings.
Those left to cherish her memories are: her daughter, Michelle (Demario) Evans of Hartsville, SC; son, Mychal Evans of Hartsville, SC; adopted daughter, Marquita Evans of Hartsville, SC; brother, Dale (Cynthia) Arnold of McBee, SC; adopted sister, Val Jacobs; 4 grandchildren: Chelniya Evans, Chelmoni Choice, Kaylen Evans and Mykhia Evans; sisters-in-law: Lenora (Eddie) Toney of Hartsville, SC, Brenda (Glen) Mack of Memphis, TN, Veronica Wilson of Bowie, Maryland; a special sister-in-law, Cathy Lawson of Florence, SC; a special niece, Dionne Hunter-Copeland; special friends: Deidra Forte, Janie Reid, Alma Jeffery, Jan Bull, Shirley Gainey-Willams and Dell Ganiey; special aunt: Jackie Hunter; and a host of family and friends.
