Akiyah Galore Sweetenburg

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ms. Akiyah Sweetenburg.

Ms. Sweetenburg 1, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 at MUSC. 

The family will receive friends at: 2624 Cherokee Lady St., Hartsville, SC and

319 Brewer Ave., Hartsville, SC. 

Please keep the family in your prayers during this time of bereavement.

Akiyah Galore Sweetenburg was born on November 9, 2021, to Tori Sweetenburg
and David J. Brunson, Sr. Akiyah was the light in the eyes of De’Andre Buard
from the day she was born, and he lovely called her “Ronni”.

“Ronni” was a very smart and inquisitive 1 year old. Akiyah had a cheerful and
loving spirit. Her smile could lift you up if you were feeling down. Her presence
in our lives will be greatly missed. Although it is beyond our understanding, we
know that God chose to lead our precious baby girl Akiyah home on the morning
of May 1, 2023. We will forever reflect on the impact she had on our lives.

Akiyah was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Leonard (Papa)
Sweetenburg and Norman Ham Jr. Akiyah will always be remembered as a sweet
and wise daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. Those who will
cherish the memories of Akiyah Galore Sweetenburg: her parents Tori (DeAndre
Buard) Sweetenburg and David Brunson.Sr, grandparents Crystal McCullough,
Lanie (Ernest) McPhail. Two sisters: Ameah Sweetenburg and JuMeyah Brunson,
Five Brothers: Tijuan Brunson, David J. Brunson, Jr., Jumarion Brunson, Jukyese
Brunson, Jubril Brunson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.
